The Board of Education of Harvey School Elementary School District 152 is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as the next superintendent beginning January 1, 2024.

Harvey Elementary School District is in Illinois, 17 miles south of Chicago.

Our Community:

Harvey is one of the oldest established suburbs south of Chicago.  The 2023 population is 19,124.

  • 6 Schools: 1 Middle School, 4 Elementary Schools, 1 Early Learning Center

  1. Conduct Interviews with Board-designated Focus Groups, Board of Education Focus Group
  2. Collect Online Survey Feedback from Members of the School Community (August 1-15, 2023). 
Late August 2023   Consultants Present New Superintendent Profile to the Board
Early September 2023 Consultants Interview and Vet Promising Candidates
Late September 2023  Consultants Present Slate of 5-7 Recommended Candidates to the Board, Interviewing Workshop
Early October (Special Board Mtgs) Board Conducts Initial Interviews of 5-7 Candidates
Late October (Special Board Mtgs)  Board Conducts Second Interviews of 3 Finalists over a 3-day period 
Early November 2023

Board Selects their Top Choice and May Choose to
Conduct a Site Visit or conduct reference calls. 
Board Negotiates Contract with Selected Candidate.   
November BOE Meeting  Board Takes Formal Action on the New Superintendent’s Contract
January 1, 2024  New Superintendent Assumes Duties
