Highlights: District 57 has 4 schools: Westbrook School for Young Learners Grades PreK – Grade 1; Fairview and Lions Park Schools Grades 2 – 5; and Lincoln Middle School Grades 6 – 8. Technology: Mount Prospect School District 57 is a 1:1 district for all students and staff in grades Pre-K-8. The district provides access to a range of software tools that enhance instruction and help meet the instructional outcomes. The school district employs an experienced staff that supports technology needs and provides instructional technology coaching. 3D printers available to all students, and Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is offered in the middle school to expose students to STEM learning. Special Programs:
- Special Education Services: In District 57, a continuum of services is offered for students who receive special education services. We provide resource support, which typically occurs within the general education environment, the Extended Support Program (ESP), which provides services outside of the general education environment, the SOAR (Structured Opportunities for Academics & Responsibility) program, which is available for students with significant cognitive development, communication/language, adaptive behavior, social skill development, and sensory regulation, and out-of-district placements for students with needs that cannot be met by District 57 services.
- English Language Learners: District 57 offers TPI (Transitional Program of Instruction) and TBE (Transitional Bilingual Education) for students, depending on the school. Each school has at least one Multilingual Services Teacher, who provides a combination of push-in and pull-out services, depending on the language needs of the students. The Multilingual Services Department is passionate about supporting emergent bilingual students develop their linguistic skills to flourish as successful learners.
