Principal
OPEN SKY EDUCATION seeks an experienced, entrepreneurial High School Principal to rebuild student enrollment, recruit and develop the teaching staff, and establish the tone and protocols needed to restore a learning community focused on the pillars of Christ, College, and Character.
A regionally competitive salary and benefits package will be offered. Applications are accepted through March 12, 2021. The new Principal will assume duties on or before July 1, 2021.

Job Purpose HOPE Christian Schools is seeking an experienced, strategic, dynamic, flexible, and creative educational leader to lead a small Christian 9-12 urban high school. The principal must be committed to dramatic student achievement for all students and willing to do whatever it takes to close the achievement gap. The ideal leader will be highly relational, able to work effectively with external academic content vendors, willing and able to interact with teachers and students in a visible and practical way throughout the school day, and model Christian behavior in words, thoughts, and actions. The high school principal role requires a commitment to loving our students, holding an unwavering belief that all children can and must succeed, and having a deep passion for developing the character of a serving leader in every child.
Essential Responsibilities and Competencies
School Administration and Operations
- Ensures a world-class educational model is developed and delivered for every student (curriculum and instructional strategies, school culture, scholar performance, character development)
- Conceptualizes the goals of the school and plans accordingly to ensure that procedures and schedules are implemented
- Creates a strong partnership with external content providers to enable content to be seamlessly blended with in-person learning
- Identifies and hires new staff including all teachers, operations, teaching assistants, and other support staff
- Takes charge of scholar recruitment and ensures school is enrolled at capacity for academic year
- Ensures consistent school schedules, including school calendars, regional training, and school compliance
- Manages the budget and contributes to the creation of a multi-year budget model
- Identifies and implements the annual objectives for the instructional, extracurricular, and athletic programs of the school
- Acts as a catalyst for efficient, accurate, and transparent business models (accounting, financing, purchasing, facilities management, technology, reporting, compliance, scholar recruitment, safety, food and transportation services)
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

- Leads the effort to build authentic relationships, communicate, and collaborate with key stakeholders including scholars, staff, parents, and community members
- Ensure that staff members are engaged in purposeful professional growth developing teacher, school, and network leaders

- Leverage strengths of team members within the school in order to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational growth

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education or related field required
- Exceptionally strong writing and communication skills
- Proven self-starter with the ability to serve as an internal expert for their team and the organization
- Successful educational leadership experience with the demonstrated ability to recruit, lead, manage, evaluate, and grow a high performing team
- Business expertise related to compliance reporting, educational legal obligations, and general business operations
- Successful High School leadership experience with the demonstrated ability to recruit, lead, manage, evaluate, and grow a high performing team
- Exceptional strong skills in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
