HIGHLIGHTS: Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as the next Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations beginning July 1, 2025.
The leader is responsible for business services/finance, facilities, food service, transportation, school safety, and the insurance program, as well as daily school and district operations. The Assistant Superintendent guides long term planning to facilitate continuous improvement of this premier unit school district in DuPage County, IL. Leading organizational advancement efforts for improvement of student outcomes is a foundational part of this position.
- Elmhurst, Illinois is in a highly desirable suburban location just 18 miles west of downtown Chicago and 12 miles from O’Hare International Airport. - District 205’s Student Journey of Excellence focuses on educating, engaging and empowering all students through all-day kindergarten, dual language, extensive extracurriculars, award-winning educators and staff, and exceptional facilities and grounds. The Assistant Superintendent is an integral part of the leadership team that supports staff and student achievement and success.
- District 205 employs 718 certified staff for its 8,300 students. The District’s fourteen schools include eight elementary schools, three middle schools, as well as a high school, transition center and early childhood education center.
- The Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations must demonstrate professional and personal competencies including skills in change management, leadership, communication, and technology. The successful candidate must demonstrate vision, initiative, judgment, innovation, and strategic thinking along with the unique skills associated with finance and operations.
- In 2018, voters in Elmhurst District 205 passed a $168,000,000 referendum to fund critical facility needs across the District. Work on those projects is nearing completion, with a budget that was augmented with $21M in funding from District reserves. The District enjoys a AA+ bond rating and has earned numerous awards for financial reporting.
Compensation:
